Nature Photography Workshops

Nature and Wildlife Photography Workshops and one to one tuition at various venues:

I am available on a one to one basis for anyone wishing to improve their nature and landscape photography. I know how technical and confusing digital photography and image processing can be and I have learned the hard way! I can deliver anything from a half day instruction course on the principal of good photography with a review on editing and image processing options, to an intensive action packed three days out in the very best locations to capture our local wildlife.

If you fancy an intensive nature photography break then please contact me to arrange a programme geared to your specific needs through
the contact form.

Whilst specific itineraries can be tailored to your requirements (and the weather), below is s sample of the locations and types of photography on offer:

North Norfolk:

North Norfolk is now my base, and I have spent the past 6 years getting to know it really well.

With it's varied habitats of heath and coast, North Norfolk provides a wealth of photographic opportunities at Cley, Blakeney, Morston, Snettisham, Kelling Heath, Brancaster, Titchwell etc.

Potential Species: waders, avocets, geese, coastal birds, hares, barn owls, adders, bearded reedlings, dartford warblers, snow buntings, water voles, banded demoiselles, kingfisher, seals etc.

The coastal environment can also provide an excellent location for both macro and landscape.

Having grown up in Mid-Wales, I know the area intimately, and retain strong family ties with the area. I have put up over 30 nest boxes to provide a suitable habitat for the native woodland birds including pied flycatchers, redstarts and wood warblers.

Nearby Gigrin Farm offers an amazing red kite photography experience, which can be overwhelming as over 400 kites all swoop and twist in front of you.

Potential Species: Red kites, woodland birds inc. pied flycatchers, redstarts, dippers and river scapes, landscapes

If you are coming to mid Wales to view kites or take part in a workshop then there are many B&B available in the Builth Wells area.

I spent 10 years living in Pembrokeshire, volunteering on Skomer and Skokholm Islands. I love the dramatic coastline there and in spring it is teeming with the many sea birds who nest there each year.

Great locations include Skomer Island, Broadhaven South, Stack Rocks, Green Bridge

Potential Species: Puffins, guillemots, razorbills, seals, ravens, stonechats, fulmars, kittiwakes.

There are plenty of B&B's available or we have a modern Holiday let overlooking the coast near Tenby - Rates dependant on time of year.

Full day workshop/photo guiding - £200.00 per day per person. B&B with me £30 per night in Norfolk.
