About
I
was brought up in rural Wales. As a boy I spent many hours
fishing the River Wye or roaming the countryside watching
birds and other wildlife. These early interests led me into
a career in fisheries and then countryside management.
In March 2005 I escaped local government to get back in touch
with nature and I have been spending alot of my time since
then photographing nature.
My
CV goes something like this:
- Born Cardiff 1953
- Grew up in Mid Wales
- Studied biology in Cardiff
- 15 years in fisheries as water bailiff, fish farmer &
fishery gmanager
- Post graduate course in countryside management, gBangor
1989
- 20 years in countryside management as senior ranger and
head of service. I am now retired and have plenty of time
to practice my passion!
I have
had success at national and international salons and hold
Distinctions in photography with the Royal Photographic Society
(ARPS) and Welsh Photographic Federation (AWPF)
Gear
and techniques:
Canon
Digital SLR's and L lenses. I enjoy the fieldcraft in getting
close to my subjects.
